You could be the troop leader who meets regularly with Girl Scouts and guides them through activities. Choose to mentor a Girl Scout while she works on a special award or cookie goal. You can lead a workshop, help out at camp or chaperone an international trip. Or work with other adults to provide behind-the-scenes support that makes it possible for every girl to learn valuable life skills and make amazing new memories.
There’s no one “type” of volunteer. You don’t need any special leadership training to get involved—just a passion for helping others.

Mother and Daughter on the Journey Together
Through Girl Scouts, Madison from Troop 762 has learned to face fears and build confidence, no matter what the circumstances. Last spring, she completed her Girl Scout Silver Award. Madison’s mom and Girl Scout leader, Florence Boyd, was filled with pride when Madison stood at the podium to share her story.
“Madison is the youngest of our blended family and our only child with special needs. I’m so happy that she was able to follow in her sister’s footsteps and become a Girl Scout. It’s been a great opportunity for her to make friends, learn about new things and have some independent adventures. As a parent, it was hard at first, because I was worried that she wouldn’t be accepted or be able to keep up due to her disabilities. However, our experience has been exceptional.”
