Famous Formers
Join us on May 1, 2025 at the d’Art Center in Norfolk from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. to celebrate Girl Scouting and its legacy of leadership. Sponsors, guests, and honorees will share the excitement of dreamers and doers who come from the Girl Scout ranks and have excelled in their fields as female leaders, trendsetters, and visionaries.
The Award
Famous Formers honors female entrepreneurs and business leaders who were Girl Scouts in their youth, and who have made a difference through high levels of achievement in their professional activities and volunteer efforts.

- Tonya Byrd, Senior Policy Director (Community Engagement) at Dominion Energy
- Sierrah Chavis, Director Youth Opportunities at United Way South Hampton Roads; Founder/CEO of Bossy Girl a 501(c)(3), and children’s author
- Cmdr. Heidi Koski, Commanding Officer of US Coast Guard Base, Elizabeth City
- Dr. Wendy Scott, Founder and Director of Tidewater Collegiate Academy at Virginia Wesleyan University
The Event
The d’Art Center connects the community and artists to create an appreciation for visual art by providing a unique opportunity to watch, create, learn, collect, and enjoy work from diverse artists in an interactive environment. This venue is the perfect place to engage with our honorees who have distinguished themselves as outstanding role models through their professional and volunteer achievements.
Individual tickets are $60 per person, or two for $100, and will engage you in the brilliant world of the d’Art Center. Valet parking, culinary delights to suit every palette, two beer/wine tickets, tile pour art class, and a “Leave your mark” canvas group art project will encourage guests to engage and socialize. The 2025 Girl Scout Famous Formers honorees will be recognized and celebrated during the evening’s program. Honorees and one personal guest will receive complimentary admission.
