Thank you Girl Scout members, friends from the community and sponsors for supporting the 2013 Helping Hands Food Drive! Thanks to you, thousands of pounds of food was collected and donated to area food banks.
Join Girl Scouts in this Council-wide community service effort. Bring your non-perishable food donations to area Walmart collection sites on May 4 from 9 a.m. to noon where they will be received, sorted and loaded onto trucks to find their way to area food banks.
How can Girl Scouts participate? Girls in troops and other membership pathways are challenged to be creative in how they collect donations – from door-to-door collections to hosting a community food drive event, there are endless ways to gather food donations. Plan to take part in the contest for the most creative promotion and the most creative collection!
You can find the 2013 Helping Hands Food Drive Patch will be available in four Council shops in May.
